Re: Canceling my membership with LSSN
As I mentioned before, over the years I’ve been an active time bank member in different cities. I never had to pay a penny.
When I moved to Springfield I became a member of Lane Sharing Network Time Bank. The policy stated that membership requires an annual fee of $30; in case of hardship the member can instead donate 3 credit hours to LSSN. I decided to donate 3 credit hours.
Because of the shutdown during covid the time bank has not been able to recover and revitalize. Therefore I took on a volunteer position as the “Orientation Lead”.
Despite of all my efforts I only brought in three new members. I concluded that people who are
interested in community work are already involved and already have found their area of interest. I also learned that many people work two jobs to make ends meet, which leaves them no time and energy for
community involvement.
In searching community projects in Eugene I learned that before LSSN there already existed a time bank, called First Non-Profit Time Bank of Eugene.
In 2022, at the LSSN board meeting, I asked Thomas why the two time banks are not merging and both using the free hOurworld software? I don’t remember any specifics, however, Thomas didn’t agree.
Last summer I noticed that the LSSN time bank has a new website. I struggled navigating it. I was not able to record an exchange. I asked Patricia Vollbrecht (Paddy) to come to my place and to try together to tackle the different issues. However, we couldn’t solve any problems on this malfunctioning website.
At our potluck meeting in January I asked Thomas Price to give us each 3 credit hours. I had six credit hours in my account. When Thomas gave me notice that he had credited me 6 hours, there suddenly were no credit hours left in my account. The software deducted 6 hours instead of adding them.
Meanwhile Heather Johnson and I helped member Alan Overwater, but he was not able either to give us credit hours.
The LSSN members received from Thomas Price a list with fees, required by LSSN to be paid, that
are due, adding up to $189. We are asked to donate money for the payment of this amount.
What I always appreciated the most about Time Banking was the chance to bypass money. To me this was the primary bond that connected us as members. To question money means to question the rightness of the system we are living in. Money was installed by our rulers as a tool to control humanity. It brought us to where we stand today as the human family.
We are living in the midst of monumental changes, leading to the liberation of humanity. We are completing an era of our civilization that will culminate in total collapse of the old world. Simultaneously we will build a new world on Earth, prophesied as the Age of Community Building
and Peace. We each will experience a leap in consciousness that will enable us to live from our heart and be guided by our hearts. Finally, we will manifest Heaven on Earth.
I already live outside our mental prison, known as the Matrix. Existing below the poverty level
means living a minimalist lifestyle and enduring hardship. Nevertheless I’ve been able to
evermore increase my frequency and fulfill my purpose of anchoring Light on Earth.
In April of 2023 I enrolled as a member of the First Non-Profit Time Bank of Eugene.
Recently, John Q. Murray, the administrator, told me that the name has changed into Whole Community Time Bank. As I understand it, the Time Bank is under the umbrella of John’s Whole Community Online Newsletter. He confirmed that this Time Bank is a free service.
I want to become active as a member of the free-service Whole Community Time Bank and interact with their members.
I am hereby canceling my LSSN membership.
Sincerely, Karin Lacy
